You found each other. You love each other. And now you want to build a life together. Start your marriage on the right foot by learning how to talk about money and how to integrate your finances. Choosing to have a Financial Coach on this journey will equip your partnership with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful.
Meeting 1: Money History
For our first session together we will dive into your individual money histories and learn how to communicate openly about finances. This will help you both understand how your past experiences with money have shaped how you think and talk about it. We will determine what money values you want in your marriage and set financial goals for your family.
Meeting 2: Present Finances
For our next session the theme is transparency. During our time together we will be examining what accounts you hold individually and determining how you want to integrate those accounts and assets. We will discuss the legal implications of finances following marriage and decide on an organizational structure for your family.
Meeting 3: Future Plans
Our last session together will launch healthy financial habits for your marriage. We will focus on spending priorities based on your financial goals and set a shared household budget. We will determine how you want to handle future financial decisions as a couple and discuss how to navigate common financial issues. Following this final session, you will have the tools for financial unity in your marriage.
After an initial discovery call, I meet with clients for 1 hour every week during the 3 weeks of our engagement. These meetings are working sessions. There is no need to prepare anything in advance, and we get things done together during the meeting.
